Lead cultural change. Build high-performing safety systems. Drive capability uplift
About the Company
This privately-owned manufacturing and processing business operates 24/7 across heavy industry and materials handling services. With a strong operational footprint, the business is in an exciting phase of growth and transformation. There’s a clear focus on building a high-performance culture, enhancing systems, and driving sustainable outcomes. It’s a fast-paced, high-impact environment where safety, people, and performance are at the heart of how things get done.
About the Role
This is a key leadership role responsible for the end-to-end health, safety, and training function across a single-site operation in Pinkenba. Supporting a predominantly blue-collar workforce, your focus will be on shifting from reactive compliance to a proactive, behaviourally led safety and training culture.
You’ll take the lead in assessing current systems, engaging with frontline and leadership teams, and implementing practical, scalable improvements. From developing safety frameworks and traffic management plans to embedding onboarding and site-based training, your work will be foundational to the business’s next chapter of growth and maturity.
About You
You’re a commercially minded, hands-on safety leader who understands how to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery. With a track record of success in manufacturing, processing, mining, or other heavy industrial settings, you’re confident building trust at all levels—from the floor to the boardroom. You know how to bring people along on the journey, influence outcomes through strong relationships, and embed practical solutions that stick. Your approach to safety is grounded in behavioural principles, and you’re equally passionate about improving systems and upskilling people. You take pride in creating safe, high-performing workplaces, and you’re ready to bring that mindset into a business that’s poised for transformation.
Culture Fit
This business values pragmatism, accountability, and people who are willing to roll up their sleeves. If you’re someone who leads by example, communicates with impact, and takes genuine pride in developing others and building systems that last — you’ll feel right at home.
Why Move?
This isn’t your standard HSE leadership role. It’s a unique opportunity to join a growing organisation at a time when meaningful change is both possible and supported. You’ll have the backing of a forward-thinking leadership team, direct access to decision-makers, and the autonomy to build something enduring. The business is serious about safety, people, and performance—and they’re ready to invest in a leader who shares that mindset. In return, you’ll enjoy a competitive base salary, a fully maintained vehicle, and a structured KPI bonus. The role is Monday to Friday, based on-site at a key trade and transport hub in Brisbane’s eastern corridor with no travel required—providing stability and the satisfaction of making a tangible impact, every day.
