About the Role Reporting to the Vice President of Maintenance & Rollingstock, this position is responsible for managing the performance, compliance, and efficiency of rollingstock maintenance operations across Queensland.
You will regularly travel to various regional depots to support operational requirements and ensure high-quality maintenance delivery.
Key Responsibilities - Lead & manage the maintenance team to meet operational and customer requirements.
- Provide mentoring and hands-on support to FST.
- Manage maintenance facilities, inventory levels, and procurement processes.
- Oversee compliance with ONRSR, accreditation requirements, and internal safety standards.
- Develop and maintain training plans for technical staff.
- Conduct and lead safety audits, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Ensure locomotive availability aligns with service schedules.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting.
- Monitor and control maintenance expenses and labour budgets.
- Support planning of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance with key stakeholders.
About You - Demonstrated a of 5 years locomotive maintenance experience.
- Strong knowledge of rollingstock systems, facilities, and compliance standards.
- Prior leadership experience in a rail or heavy industrial setting.
- Sound understanding of rail operations and maintenance planning.
- High level of technical and diagnostic competency.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable with travel to regional QLD sites.
- Adept with maintenance systems, safety procedures, and training development.
