About the role
As part of the multi-disciplinary safety team, you will report to the General Manager of Work Health and Safety and play a vital role in providing ergonomic advice and occupational support across a variety of issues. This dynamic, hands-on office-based position will require you to collaborate closely with operational leaders, HR, and Safety teams, as well as external partners, to facilitate the safe return of impacted workers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing end-to-end workers’ compensation claims.
- Coaching supervisors and managers on effective implementation of return-to-work plans.
- Analyzing trends and identifying opportunities for further education to reduce the risk of injury and claims.
- Preparing monthly statistical reports on claims management activities and processes.
- Providing ergonomic and occupational support.
- Leading and/or supporting ad hoc projects as needed.
About you
To thrive in this role, you should possess a solid understanding of injury management and Workers’ Compensation legislation at the national level, or at least across multiple states. You’ll need to demonstrate expertise in the full spectrum of case management for workers' compensation claims, as well as in developing and implementing effective return-to-work plans.
Building relationships quickly is essential, and you should be able to establish trust and show empathy when addressing both work-related and non-work-related injuries. Integrity and confidentiality are paramount in handling each case. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, as you’ll be expected to report, analyze, and effectively communicate case statuses.
Additionally, you’ll need to have or obtain a QLD Blue Card, a QLD Driver’s License, and an LCS2 check. A positive attitude and a passion for teamwork will help you thrive in our collaborative environment.
