About the Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a rare opportunity to step into a succession-critical position within a well-established finance team.
The role has become available due to the planned retirement of a long-serving employee who has been with the business for more than 40 years, providing the successful candidate with a structured handover and the opportunity to learn from one of the organisation's most experienced finance professionals.
This is far more than a traditional accounts role.
You will work across a broad range of finance responsibilities while becoming a key support resource to the CFO and wider Finance team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting month-end processing and reporting
- Preparing journals, accruals and reconciliations
- Managing creditor reconciliations and payment processes
- Maintaining the fixed asset register
- Assisting with cash flow reporting
- Supporting BAS and compliance activities
- Assisting with audit preparation and reporting requirements
- Maintaining key financial registers and documentation
- Contributing to process improvement initiatives
- Providing support across the broader finance function
This position will suit someone who enjoys variety, accountability and working within a business where no two days are the same.
About You
You are a capable and hands-on finance professional who enjoys operating across a broad range of accounting responsibilities and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work.
You may currently be working as a Senior Finance Officer, Assistant Accountant, Senior Accounts Officer or Financial Accountant and are seeking a role that offers greater variety, exposure and long-term opportunity.
You will bring strong experience across month-end processes, reconciliations, fixed assets and financial administration, together with the ability to build trusted relationships across a business. Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, distribution or another operational environment will be highly regarded, as will exposure to SAP or a large ERP system.
Most importantly, you are someone who takes ownership, enjoys being part of a team and is willing to contribute wherever required.
