Take ownership of meaningful IR work, lead enterprise bargaining and build a genuine pathway into longer-term leadership.
About the Company
Our client is a large national healthcare organisation with a complex workforce and an established People and Culture function. Operating across a significant multi-site environment, the organisation is progressing several important industrial relations priorities and is seeking an experienced practitioner who can provide continuity, maintain momentum and deliver practical outcomes.
About the Role
This is an initial six to twelve month fixed-term contract employed directly by the organisation. There is genuine potential for permanency for the right person who delivers strong outcomes and demonstrates the capability to grow with the role.
Working closely with the Senior People and Culture leader, you will support the delivery of an established industrial relations strategy across current and emerging enterprise bargaining activity. The direction is clear, and your focus will be on translating that direction into practical action and completed outcomes.
You will represent the organisation in negotiations, facilitate constructive discussions with unions and bargaining representatives, coordinate meetings and prepare submissions and supporting documentation. You will maintain momentum across each stage of the process, ensuring agreed actions are followed through and key stakeholders remain informed.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can quickly understand work already underway, establish trusted relationships and take ownership of delivery. You will bring the technical depth to identify and manage industrial risk while remaining practical, commercially aware and focused on solutions.
About You
You are an experienced industrial relations practitioner with direct involvement in enterprise bargaining and union negotiations. You have represented an employer during bargaining discussions and can demonstrate how you have personally progressed negotiations, documentation and agreed actions through to an outcome.
You understand the Fair Work Act, modern awards and enterprise agreement processes and can prepare clear, accurate and persuasive submissions, employer responses, briefing papers and bargaining documentation.
You are comfortable joining work already underway and can quickly establish what has been completed, what remains outstanding and where your attention is most needed. You understand technical detail but know how to turn that detail into practical advice and action.
Experience within healthcare, medical services or another complex, regulated and multi-site environment would be valuable, but it is not essential. What matters most is credible bargaining experience, strong professional judgement and the ability to represent an organisation confidently.
Culture Fit
You will work well with a clear, decisive and fast-moving leader, adapting comfortably to an environment where priorities can move quickly. You listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions and then use your experience and judgement to progress work confidently through to completion.
You are practical, responsive and solutions focused. You remain composed during challenging discussions, communicate directly and respectfully and build constructive union relationships without losing sight of the organisation’s position.
You are comfortable operating with autonomy while keeping relevant leaders informed, raising material risks early and seeking direction when a decision sits outside your agreed authority.
Why Move?
This is an opportunity to take ownership of meaningful industrial relations work with an established national organisation and make a visible contribution from the outset.
You will gain direct exposure to enterprise bargaining, union engagement and a complex multi-site operating environment while working closely with senior People and Culture leadership.
The role offers attractive remuneration, the security of a six to twelve month fixed-term contract and genuine potential to develop into a permanent IR leadership opportunity. It will suit someone who enjoys hands-on delivery, wants ownership of meaningful work and is looking for an opportunity that could grow with them.
