Operational WHS advisor role supporting community and aged care sites across Brisbane, balancing on-site presence with flexibility and trusted autonom
About the Company
Our client is a large, values-led organisation delivering essential services across Southeast Queensland. Operating across a broad network of sites, the organisation supports diverse frontline teams working in community, aged care and healthcare environments. Safety is viewed as a shared responsibility, supported by practical guidance, strong leadership commitment and a genuine focus on enabling safe operations.
About the Role
This is a highly operational Work Health & Safety Advisor role, partnering closely with leaders and frontline teams across aged care, community services and healthcare settings. Regular travel is an expected part of the role, with sites primarily within driving distance across Brisbane and surrounding suburbs.
Reporting to the WHS Manager, this role sits within a broader safety and risk team, providing day-to-day advisory support across incident response, investigations and operational risk management. You’ll work alongside experienced safety professionals and collaborate closely with leaders to identify risks, understand root causes and implement practical, proportionate controls.
A key focus of the role is helping managers apply WHS legislation in a way that is compliant, realistic and aligned to how work is actually performed — supporting the business rather than simply directing it. While the role requires a strong on-the-ground presence, it also offers flexibility to work from home when not on site, balancing visibility with autonomy.
There is flexibility in where the role is based, with the option to work from one of the organisation’s many sites.
About You
You bring hands-on WHS experience within aged care, healthcare or community services and are comfortable working in complex, people-facing environments. You’re pragmatic in your approach, confident supporting leaders who are not WHS specialists, and focused on helping the business manage risk sensibly and effectively.
You enjoy being visible in the organisation, building trust with leaders and teams, and providing guidance that can be implemented in practice. You’re comfortable responding to incidents, contributing to investigations and trend analysis, and using systems and basic data to inform decisions. A willingness to travel locally across Brisbane is essential.
Why Move?
This is an opportunity to join a well-supported WHS function that is part of a broader safety and risk team, with clear leadership and genuine executive backing. You’ll be trusted to work operationally, supported by experienced colleagues, and given flexibility in how you manage your time. The role offers a competitive salary plus super and salary packaging. Genuine work-from-home flexibility and the opportunity to grow your career within a stable, purpose-driven organisation.
